Campfire conversations [Jul. 5th, 2007|03:30 am]
[Current Location |Black Forest]
[Current Mood | cynical]

Guts, Link, Zidane and McDohl talk strategy about how best to defeat Garm and anything else that may come their way. )

Guts implies some dark details about his past dealings with demons over a campfire discussion between the party members. A short scene, but worth the read if you care to know any more about Guts' philosophy.

Through the Black Forest: Back for More - Part 2 )

Part 2 (of 2) of the party's second encounter with Garm. Link, McDohl, and Zidane fight the good fight as before. This time, however, I get my first taste of real battle, go berserk, and manage to deal out some serious damage on my enemies! RAWR!

Through the Black Forest: Back for More - Part 1 )

Though the group has moved on, the demons are not far behind, and in fact one in particular is looking to play cat and mouse with us. It seems we are being followed in this first part of our second encounter with a demon wolf. Bonus: a random GM being weird at the end in a wtf moment.

Through the Black Forest: Meeting the Natives - Part 3 - Aftermath )

This is the final part of the fight, which serves more as the aftermath of the fight than a part of the actual battle. McDohl passes out briefly, Zidane feels like a chewtoy, and Link finally finds the trio once the cause of it all is gone. Bonuses include McDohl and Guts OOCly name-calling at the beginning, and me cursing likea sailor once again. Take that, bitches.

Through the Black Forest: Meeting the Natives - Part II )

Part 2 (of 3) of the fight with Garm, which is continued in this chapter. Unfortunately, I'm trapped in a pit for most of the fight! Rrr... McDohl kicks some ass and kills some dwarves, while Zidane makes a right fool of himself trying to make a deal with the demon wolf. Grrr, lemme at that bastard!!

The hunter or the hunted? [Apr. 7th, 2006|10:30 am]
[Current Location |Black Forest]
[Current Mood | angry]
[Current Music |"How Can I Recognize My Home"--Veljo Tormis]

Through the Black Forest: Meeting the Natives - Part I )

This long scene was originally in two parts which have been combined. The band of four enter the Black Forest and find themselves rather creeped out by the eerie silence and ominous feel of the place. The supernatural is present all around them, it thrives in the uncharted forests like nowhere else. The sudden approaching footsteps of something very large just ahead of them gives everyone cause to leap from the path and take cover. But then the creature seems to pass them by, taking no notice... unfortunately for the group, however, Guts gets a tingling sensation on the back of his neck, which can only mean one thing... demon!

Guts follows the creature with intent to hunt it down, but falls prey to its premeditated trap, a 20-foot-deep pit. Meanwhile the creature taunts them from all around, as it seems ever-present...

Bonuses include Zidane being a tard, more Zidane being a tard, and Zidane completely missing cues thrown him by the pit-fallen Guts. Also contained in this scene are brief OOC conversations regarding said fucktardedness of Zidane.

Far from Home... [Apr. 6th, 2006|11:28 pm]
[Current Location |South shore of the North Sea]
[Current Mood | contemplative]
[Current Music |Nickleback--"Someday"]

Guts and Tir McDohl talk politics on the shore )

After landing on the South shore, the band of four camps for the night just outside the Black Forest. The sailor leaves them to their own devices, and the only two left awake by this time are Guts and Tir. A discussion on war and politics ensues, ending with a consensus that Raoul is an evil bastard. Guts tells Tir he's from Gaul at the risk of losing the young man's respect, and learns that Raoul's armies will attack Alexandria in less than a month if the city does not surrender. Though he is not exactly surprised, this news disturbs Guts in a way he can't describe or express. What else does Guts know that he's not telling him?

Get me off this damn boat! [Apr. 6th, 2006|12:22 pm]
[Current Location |North Sea]
[Current Mood | sea-sick]
[Current Music |Enya--"Sail Away"]

Guts and McDohl talk on a cramped boatride. Whee. )

The party gets going early the next morning and sets sail... on a one-man skiff. WTF? They'd been under the impression it was a ship, and not a boat. Oops. The 'ship' so cramped, the four adventurers are packed in like sardines and must sit that way until the nightfall. *groans* Guts and Tir attempt to make the best of their situation, given they're unable to sleep, and talk about things.
Noteworthy points are Guts getting seasick and McDohl trying to keep from getting hit in the head by the sail. XD

At the shore of the Northern Sea [Apr. 6th, 2006|11:52 am]
[Current Location |Northern shore of the North Sea]
[Current Mood |productive]

Meeting Popeye's grandpappy and building a rock-fence--the things we do for a frickin' boatride! )

The band of four adventurers finally reaches the northern shore of the North Sea, and must find a way to cross it. While pondering the best way to do this, and if they should look for a town, they come across an old sailor who looks a lot like Popeye's grandpappy. Go figure. He offers them a deal, saying if they're willing to build him a fence at his cottage, he'll give the four passage to the opposite shore. Of course, the fence is to be made of /rocks/, huge boulders that are difficult, if hardly possible, for one man to move. While the other three struggled, Guts was the best suited of the four for this kind of work, and actually enjoys it as an invigorating workout. After the fence is built, the four sit down with the old man for a simple fish dinner and chat over mugs of mead.

Bonuses include Link getting scientific about alcohol, explaining that it depresses the senses and dampens one's abilities, and Guts deciding that was what made alcohol good in the first place.

On the road again... [Apr. 6th, 2006|11:32 am]
[Current Location |Londinium Road]
[Current Mood | intimidating]
[Current Music |Black Sabbath--"Wall of Sleep"]

Encounter with a lousy band of thieves )

While making their way down the Londinium Road on the trail of the kidnappers, Guts' party perceives a band of thieves watching them from the brush. At first, the four prepare for an onslaught. But instead of attacking, the thieves hesitate. Everyone's quiet until the barbaric Guts simply gets sick of the silence and in a brash move, roars at them intimidatingly. They run away.
Extras include hearing Guts say "fuck".

Leaving Alexandria, finally. [Apr. 6th, 2006|11:19 am]
[Current Location |Gates of Alexandria]
[Current Mood | irate]
[Current Music |Black Sabbath--"Black Sabbath"]

The Party acquires Link and gets a move on )

In this scene, Link joins the party after Zidane gives him the 'idiot version' of their mission. Luckily, Link happened to already have an idea what was going on, so the re-explanation did not take long. Finally, they begin moving along the lesser-traveled Londinium road.
Bonuses include Zidane being an idiot. But it's hardly a bonus anymore, considering there's a lot of that now that we have to put up with him for an entire journey to Lindblum. -stabs self in his good eye-

Your mission, if you choose to accept it... [Mar. 5th, 2006|10:20 pm]
[Current Mood | blah]
[Current Music |The Suikoden 1 world map theme]

Guts, McDohl and Zidane meet with Beatrix, who sends them on a mission to learn the meaning of the scroll and who sent it )

Zidane delivers the scroll to Beatrix at Alexandria Castle, where Guts and McDohl meet up with them. The four move to Beatrix's office to discuss the contents of the scroll and what must be done. It is decided that the three will go South and follow the trail of the Midnight Squad, the supposed kidnappers, to wherever it leads...

Bonuses include Zidane further incriminating himself as a traitor to his country, Lindblum, by again repeatedly insisting on war without a single word in defense of his own country, as the bolded lines will highlight.

The adventure party keeps growing... [Mar. 3rd, 2006|12:06 am]
[Current Mood | annoyed]
[Current Music |Indiana Jones theme]

Guts meets Tir McDohl )

Personalities clash in this brief scene where Guts encounters the 20-year-old Tir McDohl (of Suikoden fame), who was sent to Guts by the "old man" fortuneteller Zhuge Liang in order to relay instructions and join the 'party.'
Highlight: Angry young men bickering.

The Shocking Scroll and the beginnings of an Adventure Party [Feb. 18th, 2006|01:07 am]
[Current Mood | exhausted]
[Current Music |Seether--"Take Me Away"]

Guts and Zidane meet Zhuge Liang, Part 3: Discussing the Scroll and Preparing to Leave )

Guts and Zidane sift through the spoils of the fight, rifling the dead assassin's pockets to find a very important document--a scroll--that reveals shocking news about the Regent of Lindblum and his apparent involvement in the disappearance of the Alexandrian Royal Family. But was it the truth, or another false clue? Afterward, Guts, monkey-boy and Zhuge Liang discuss the matter upstairs quietly, making plans to leave Alexandria at once in order to catch up to whoever did this, and possibly recover the Royal Family at the same time.

Bonus: Zidane beats Messiah as the greatest spy in the world! Read how Zidane blunders and announces his membership of the spy group Tantalus! Then watch as he eagerly betrays his own country and suggests Alexandria should declare war on Lindblum! Notable/stupid/hilarious lines are highlighted in bold. Good going, spy-master!

[Current Music |Seether--"I Gave My Life Away"]

Guts and Zidane meet Zhuge, Part 2: Interrogation and First Combat with a Band of Assassins )

As the title implies, Guts and Zidane follow Zhuge Liang to the Dusty Rose Inn and question him about what he knows in the tavern. However, the interrogation is interrupted when a small group of assassins try to get the upper hand, but fail miserably because of Zhuge's excellent tactics, which foil enemies every time.

[Current Mood | irritated]
[Current Music |Seether--"Nobody's Gonna Stand in My Way"]

Guts and Zidane meet Zhuge Liang, Part 1 )

Only hours after his scene with Beatrix, Guts comes upon Link and overhears a conversation between him and an older (late 20s, early 30s) Eastern man that sounds suspiciously like the exact thing he was keeping an ear to the ground for. He tails the 'old man,' only to find that the annoying thief Zidane has done the same... and irritation ensues. What does the old fortune teller know of the missing Royal Family, and what has he heard from the stars? To be continued!

Go directly to jail! [Feb. 17th, 2006|09:48 pm]
[Current Mood | pessimistic]
[Current Music |Seether--"Fade Away"]

Beatrix takes Guts directly to jail, do not pass GO! )

Part 2 of Guts' encounter with Beatrix. To recap, they are finally able to speak alone to each other as fellow warriors for the first time without any interruptions from the peanut gallery Zidane. Beatrix then expresses her wish to hire Guts to find out what happened to the Royal Family, pinpoint their location, and, if possible, conduct a rescue operation. Guts agrees, on the condition that she pay him regardless of whether or not he can successfully bring them back--as he does not have high hopes for most recon missions.

Guts approaches the Alexandrian castle gates [Feb. 8th, 2006|04:07 pm]
[Current Mood | cranky]
[Current Music |Berserk Soundtrack--"Guts' theme"]

Guts faces off with Beatrix at the castle gates! )

The Black Swordsman finally meets Beatrix one-on-one in front of the castle, where Beatrix stops him and demands a strip-search forces a brief confrontation. After some arguing, the subject of the missing Royal Family comes up. The two characters seem to have some interesting chemistry together, as you will see upon reading it. (FYI, this is one of my favorite scenes between the two.) Bonuses are a few OOC notes I left in that were funny and relevant.

Join us next time for Part 2: Beatrix sends Guts directly to jail!

Guts wanders down the high-class part of Alexandria---Nobles' Way [Jan. 31st, 2006|12:18 am]
[Current Mood | grumpy]
[Current Music |LPD--"Why Did Our Dream Have to Die?"]

Chancing Upon two Familiar Faces in an Up-Class Cafe )

This is another scene primarily bent on just getting to know some of the other characters in social situations. Here, Guts is a fish out of water in a ritzy bar and doesn't like the attention. Zidane acts British and Beatrix cracks her knuckles in preparation to end the stupidity once and for all.

This particular scene in which Guts reacts angrily to Beatrix's comment about the slave class got me thinking about adding something to Guts' semi-vague background. It would be a slight addition to his expected parallel background from the Berserk series that made him into the Black Swordsman. I still haven't decided, nor have any staff OK'd it, but it caused me to consider changing Guts' bg so that he was captured and sold as a slave in his youth. Eventually he pulled a Conan and escaped after maybe 6 months to a year or two of it. Any thoughts are welcome.

Guts walks the streets of Alexandria... [Jan. 30th, 2006|11:25 am]
[Current Mood | gloomy]
[Current Music |Roy Orbison--"Pretty Woman" (please don't kill me Beatrix)]

First encounter with... an elf, a thief and a cyclopian warrior woman?! )

This is Guts' first logged scene on Animania Online. It takes place in Alexandria, where he's wandered to in his most recent travels. In this funny little scene, Guts gets an odd first impression of Zidane when the thief plays a practical joke on the poor city guard Link. Then Beatrix comes in, and all the appropriate background music starts (*bow chica bow-bow*) and the two one-eyed warriors size each other up. Enjoy!
